When dealing with more complicated and unusual conditions we are very happy to discuss the case with the owners. Depending on the availability of the owners this may be in person when they come to collect their pet or over the phone if that is more suitable.

Ultrasonography

Not just hearts.

Ultrasonography is a versatile tool with a lot of applications including:

• Abdominal ultrasound
• Ultrasound guided biopsy (Fine Needle Aspirate & Tru-cut biopsy)
• Intra-articular injections

Echocardiography

Echocardiography is the best way to identify the type and severity of heart disease affecting patients, helping guide diagnosis and treatment.

Digital ECG

• Arrhythmias are a common finding in patients with heart disease but the cost of Holter exams can be a barrier to in depth work ups for a lot of patients.
• Screening ECGs at the time of referral can help identify patients that might benefit from further investigation while keeping costs reasonable for most clients.
• Our digital ECG system allows us to store ECGs for future reference as well as adjusting the amplitude and trace speed post recording.

Non-Invasive Blood Pressure

• High blood pressure can be a complicating illness in a number of chronic health conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and chronic kidney disease.
• Checking peripheral blood pressure can help add some clarity to cases who are in the grey area for certain heart diseases.

Holter Monitoring

• Holter monitors are the gold standard when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias.
• Their wide range of applications includes screening for dilated cardiomyopathy and assessing response to treatment for conditions such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
